Step outside and settle into the front or back deck, where you can relax with a morning coffee, unwind with a glass of wine or simply watch the wonderful array of local birdlife and wildlife as they fly, hop and wander by. As the day draws to a close, enjoy spectacular sunsets and beautiful views stretching towards Wilson’s Promontory.

The spacious, modern kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need to enjoy a comfortable home away from home, whether you’re preparing a leisurely breakfast or a family dinner. For added convenience, you’ll find a coffee machine and air fryer, along with all the essentials for your stay.

After a day exploring the coast, fire up the stainless-steel hooded BBQ beside the outdoor dining area and cook your daily catch while enjoying the peaceful surroundings—an especially memorable way to finish the day at Port Albert Waterview Retreat.

Introducing The Frida Room

Inspired by the Bendigo Art Gallery’s wonderful exhibition on Frida Kahlo in 2025, by advance request and during the Winter months, the Silverwater Room is transformed into The Frida Room! We have created a beautiful themed room at the Retreat with all things Frida. Book a break and request The Frida Room for your stay. Immerse yourself in the books about Frida, watch the movie, Frida, starring Salma Hayek on our free Wifi Netflix with your margarita or drink of preference in front of the roaring woodfire while enjoying the water views and watching the kangaroos hop past at dawn and dusk! Have a go at putting together the Frida jigsaw puzzle while listening to Mariachi music on CDs or bluetooth.

Amenities at the Retreat

Quality linen and bedding is supplied. Reverse cycle air conditioner heats and cools the living areas and thermostat-controlled heaters are installed in each bedroom. The living room also has a cosy Coonara wood fire. Wood is supplied. 

We cater for young families and upon request, can provide a port-a-cot and a high chair. There is a selection of board games for all ages and children’s books for the kids to enjoy. We also have a selection of DVDs for children and adults as well as Netflix.
